How To Use Clip On Wheel Weight?

29 Dec 2023

1. Identify the Imbalance:

Mount the tire on the wheel balancer.

Spin the wheel and let the balancer measure the imbalance. It will indicate the location and amount of weight needed.

2. Select the Appropriate Weight:

Choose the correct size and weight of the clip-on wheel balance weight based on the balancer's recommendation.

3. Clean the Wheel Surface:

Before attaching the weight, make sure the wheel surface is clean and free of any dirt or grease. You may use a clean cloth or a mild cleaning solution.

4. Locate the Balancing Point:

The balancer will indicate the ideal placement of the weight on the rim. Usually, weights are attached to the outer or inner lip of the rim.

5. Install the Clip-on Weight:

Clip-on wheel balance weights have a spring-loaded clip that grips the edge of the wheel. Slide the weight onto the designated location and make sure it is securely attached.

6. Verify Balance:

After attaching the weight, recheck the balance using the wheel balancer. If necessary, make further adjustments by adding or repositioning weights.

7. Repeat for Other Wheels:

If balancing multiple wheels, repeat the process for each one.

8. Final Inspection:

Ensure that all weights are securely attached and won't interfere with any other components like brake calipers.
